An independent, impartial, international non-profit organization collecting data on violent conflict and protest in all countries and territories in the world.
The ACLED Conflict Index assesses every country and territory in the world according to four indicators – deadliness, danger to civilians, geographic diffusion, and armed group fragmentation – based on analysis of political violence event data collected for the past year.
In ACLED’s Conflict Watchlist, we identify 10 crisis areas that are likely to evolve in the coming year, both for better and for worse. The Watchlist goes beyond showcasing violent hotspots and instead offers a view into some of the world’s most complex crises.
Check this page for the latest ACLED analysis on the crisis as it develops, including in Gaza, the West Bank, Israel, Lebanon, Iran, the Red Sea, Iraq, and Syria.
Access the latest data and analysis on political violence and protest trends, as well as potential early warning signs that merit closer monitoring, by selecting a region from the map below.
ACLED’s last data updates for 2024 were released on 16 and 17 December. Data for the period of 14 December 2024 through 10 January 2025 will be released on 13 and 14 January 2025, after which regular weekly updates will resume.
